From the owners:

Welcome to Mitten State Pediatric Therapy! We are excited to share more about our background and our clinic.

Previous to opening Mitten State Pediatric Therapy, we worked in the outpatient hospital setting throughout our careers. With our experience, we understand firsthand the frustration of long patient waitlists that come with a medical setting. We also recognize the difficulty many families face trying to find a private setting that is in network with their insurance. We opened Mitten State Pediatric Therapy to create a private, family-centered practice where patient needs can be immediately met, with excellent care that is covered by health insurance.

Not only do we accept most health insurances, including Medicaid, but we also offer a unique skill set different from traditional private clinics. Coming from the medical setting, we have the experience of treating a wider variety of patients that are typically not seen in a private setting. We are able to proficiently treat both physical disabilities as well as children with sensory and trauma-based concerns. We offer occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy so patients can get all of their needs taken care of in one place.  Our flexible schedules allow us to offer intensive therapies if indicated and allow us to work around the needs of the family.

Our Physical Therapist, Beth, is Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) Certified, which is focused on comprehensive, evidenced-based treatment. We are also one of the only clinics that offer VitalStim Therapy for the pediatric population in West Michigan, which is used to strengthen swallowing muscles to allow children to safely swallow liquids.

We strive to make our clinic a fun, comfortable, and collaborative atmosphere where our patients’ needs and goals are put first. We look forward to working with you!
